Beach Cruiser Bike Governors Island New York

Manhattan is an island in NYC, but an even smaller one occupies space between it and Brooklyn, New York City.

Governors Island, located off the southern tip of Manhattan in New York City, is a rare oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple.

With its picturesque views, unique attractions, and 8-mile bike loop around the entire island, it’s no wonder it’s such a hot destination for city dwellers.

If you’re looking to experience Governors Island in a way unlike any other, why not consider taking your beach cruiser bike?

Doing so will allow you to explore the nooks and crannies of this tiny island that can’t be seen any other way.

Here’s what you need to know about renting a beach cruiser bike on Governors Island!

Governors Island was an army base, and it was not until 2003 that it was sold to the city and transformed into a site for travelers. Finally, 14 is small, 172 acres in NYC Harbor, and only eight hundred yards from the lower area.

What Makes Governors Island, New York Great

Stepping off the fully crowded ferry, the island takes moments to understand.

You can see the beach left behind just minutes before, but the ferry is already leaving, and you know you will be waiting for the upcoming.

It is a strange feeling of liberation rather than of being trapped.

In NYC, you are constantly moving from 1 place to another as quickly as possible, but here, you’ve to wait.

There’re still buildings in the Park, wholly unused and assuredly terrifying if you see them abandoned at night. A library run is down and closely grown over, but curtains remain blown in the dormitories’ windows.

There is no historical trip, but you can allow your imagination to run free as you meander through. This is bustling with many activities on the weekends, from big screens to concerts for visitors to sit and watch the WC to food vendors.

For biking, bike rentals are available on Governors Island, New York, bikes are welcome on the ferry that brings tourists for just 2 USD round trip, and children below 12 rides are free.

It is mainly artificial topography, the same as that of Central Park, and the major attractions when they are finished – will be the four hills: Slide, Grassy, Outlook, and Discovery.

Hill’s eighty-foot high outlook will have an acceptable winding biking path and might be the best spot for some weekday run intervals while the family bike rides around Governors Island, New York.
